Solution Selection/Package Software Evaluation (PSE)

When investing in business software, the process undertaken to identify candidate ‘buy’ solutions is critical to ensuring that a selection is made based on business-specific needs and that a purchase is able to achieve the goals expected of it. Too often organizations find themselves being asked to make significant purchase decisions based on generic marketing presentations and verbal representations from software sales representatives.

Trasys PSE Method aims to provide a 360 Degree view of the Packaged Software Solutions available in the marketplace. It assesses organizational needs and describes desired solution attributes in terms of a weighted scorecard of requirements. The selection process then works to research candidate packages, apply measures of how well each solution’s capabilities match these requirements and compare them on a level playing field that allows direct objective comparisons to be made.

Ultimately the customer receives a graded selection of possible solutions with a clear understanding of the pro’s and con’s of each. A formal RFP and procurement process, integrated with our customer’s accepted procurement practices or led by Trasys, is then used to leverage this market understanding and realize the best pricing possible from the solution vendors, both for initial purchase price and maintenance agreements.
